1. The application of Drought Defense just before an irrigation will carry the product into the soil and deposit it in the soil pore spaces. The presence of surfactants and penetrants in the product helps liquid water move through small cracks and fissures in the soil and helps to position Drought Defense in the soil. Once the water movement stops it is only a short time before it begins to evaporate.
2. The significance of the water conserving ingredients gives Drought Defense its name. The presence of humectants in Drought Defense prevent much of this water evaporation from occurring deeper in the soil where the roots are located.

Other Observable Benefits of Drought Defense

Drought Defense contains 7 proprietary ingredients that work together to create a product that is a wetting agent, soil conditioner and helps retains water at the roots. The wetting agents reduce the surface tension of the water enabling the product to penetrate the vegetative canopy. The soil penetrants aid in the infiltration of water through the soil surface. The water capturing agents in Drought Defense change the physical nature of water droplets and the soils’ ability to absorb and hold water. When applied Drought Defense moves into the soil pore spaces and adheres to soil particles. Subsequent rain and irrigation is then captured by the Drought Defense molecules and are later, when water conditions change, pulled away by the plants roots. This process continues until the eventual microbial decomposition of Drought Defense occurs.
